In MicroTCA systems power is not an external accessory but a module that takes a slot of the shelf: NAT-PM-AC600 receives the alternating mains current and distributes to the AMC modules the voltage laid down by the standard, under the control of the shelf manager.
The module is designed for continuous service, with stated RoHS conformance and an operating temperature range from -40 to 85 °C that allows use in cabinets without climate control. An indicator lamp reports the draw, making the state of the supply readable without connecting to the system.
