IMB-M45 is an industrial motherboard in ATX form factor. ATX is the format of the most widespread enclosures and power supplies: the board fits the cabinets already in use, keeps the usual layout of mounting holes and I/O panel, and does not force a redesign of the system mechanics.
Compared with an office board, an industrial motherboard is meant for continuous service and for integration: processor, memory and heatsink are chosen at configuration time, according to the load and to the cabinet temperature.
