EXPRESS-BASECOM Express Type 2 reference carrier board in ATX form factor
Express-BASE is the ADLINK reference carrier board for COM Express Type 2 modules: PICMG COM Express Revision 2.0 interface and support for Type 2 modules in Basic or Compact form factor. Its footprint is that of an ATX board, 305 x 244 mm, so the development bench fits into a standard case. It is a reference board, not a production carrier.
What sets it apart is the firmware work: the on-board sockets for secondary LPC and SPI flash host a second BIOS, and execution can proceed one step at a time. A dedicated header carries Smart Battery communication to the ADLINK BattMan board.
For those designing their own carrier, the COM Express Carrier Design Guide published on the ADLINK product page documents the reference choices.
