The LEC-IMX6 mounts on a custom carrier board via the 314-pin SMARC golden finger: CPU, memory and storage sit on the module, while the connectors and the audio codec sit on the carrier. The SoC is ARM, not x86, and integrates a VPU for SD and HD video decoding.
The footprint stays the same while the compute class changes: i.MX6 Quad and Dual bring 1 MB of L2 cache, 3 displays and SATA, while i.MX6 DualLite and Solo have 512 kB of L2, 1 display and no SATA. On the software side, Windows Embedded Compact 7 and Linux are supported as standard, with Android, VxWorks and QNX available via BSP.
The family also includes the LEC-iMX6-HS configurations, with heatspreader, and LEC-iMX6-HS2.
