Certifications

We believe that working with a management system that meets the requirements of recognized International Quality Standards is an essential condition for maintaining our Company’s competitiveness. For this reason, we have been operating with an ISO 9001 Certified System since 2002. Our important involvement in avionics and railway projects has led us to add three important certifications: the EN 9100:2018 and EN 9120:2018 specific for the requirements of the aerospace market, and the IRIS ISO/TS 22163:2017 tailored to the specific needs of the railway sector.

Conflict Minerals Policy

The expression “Conflict Minerals” identifies minerals such as tin, tantalum, tungsten, and gold (also known as “3TG”). They are defined as “Conflict Minerals” because their trade in politically unstable areas, characterized by armed conflicts such as a civil war or a state of post-war fragility, can be used for financing armed groups, promoting forced labor and other human rights violation, as well as corruption and money laundering.
In 2010 in the United States the “Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act” was passed, requiring the Security Exchange Commission (SEC) to regulate the use of “Conflict Minerals” in manufacturing processes. it focuses on minerals from Congo and neighbouring areas, requiring transparency in the supply chain so that it does not directly or indirectly feed conflicts in those regions.
On 1 January 2021, Regulation no. 2017/821 of the European Union, which “establishes obligations regarding due diligence in the supply chain for Union importers of tin, tantalum and tungsten, their minerals, and gold, originating in conflict-affected or high risk ”, is entered into force: it does not refer to a specific area of the world but to all politically unstable areas.
GOMA Elettronica S.p.A., although it does not directly purchase or commercializes minerals from Congo or other politically unstable areas, has carried out an internal analysis that highlights a low risk from the point of view of “Conflict Minerals”.
GOMA Elettronica S.p.A. has explicitly requested its suppliers to adopt an adequate evaluation process about “Conflict Minerals” and to send their “Conflict Minerals” policies to the e-mail address quality@goma.it
