Systems and platforms based on Compact PCI Serial , the most recent PICMG specification that updates the CompactPCI architecture adding high speed serial interconnections. In single star configuration, a system slot supports up to 8 peripheral boards without the need of bridges and switches, having 8 PCI Express, 8 SATA/SAS, 8 USB 2.0/3.0 and 8 Ethernet interfaces. Instead, in a full mesh configuration it’s possible to use up to 9 boards connected with the Ethernet link.
