The AP570 is an AcroPack mezzanine module that brings Industry Pack format I/O onto a PCI Express interface (Release 2.0): it mounts on CompactPCI Serial, XMC, VPX or PCIe carriers and coexists with other AcroPack modules in the same COTS assembly for avionics.
The connection to the carrier runs through a 100-pin Samtec board-to-board connector, not through cabling. Alongside the 1553 bus there is an IRIG-B input with 46-bit absolute time tagging, open/ground discrete I/O at avionics level +35 V, trigger input and output and pins for the wired RT address; the DMA engine reduces PCIe bus occupancy and offloads the host CPU. Bus coupling is transformer-based, with a direct coupled option.
Two configurations: AP571-000, single function channel (BC + BM or multi-RT + BM), and AP572-000, full multi-function with simultaneous BC, multi-RT and BM.
