In MicroTCA systems mass storage can live in an AMC slot like any other function: AMC600 brings the disk inside the shelf, on the same backplane over which data and management travel, avoiding cabling towards external units.
The module stays under the control of the shelf manager through IPMI 2.0, with front LEDs telling the management state apart from disk activity. The certifications stated are CE, FCC and UL and the storage range runs from -40 to 70 °C.
