AMC512 is a carrier for FMC boards built around a Xilinx Virtex-5 FPGA, with two banks of 32-bit DDR2 for a total of 512 MB meant for processing the mezzanine data.

The protocol towards the backplane is decided by the firmware, with AMC.1, AMC.2 and AMC.4 conformance, while the front panel exposes the FMC and two separate serials for management and for the FPGA. The carrier draws about 20 W without a mezzanine and storage temperature runs from -40 to 85 °C.
