UTC006 is the MicroTCA Carrier Hub of the system: it concentrates shelf management, clocking and fabric switching in a single double full-size AMC module, declared for MTCA.0, MTCA.1 and MTCA.4.
The fabric is a configuration option: PCIe Gen3, 40GbE, SRIO Gen2 or cross-bar switch, or a Xilinx Virtex-7 FPGA with four lanes towards each AMC module. The base channel is a layer 2 or 3 managed GbE switch, with two 10GbE uplinks on RJ-45 ports; management complies with IPMI v2.0 and HPM v1.0.
