APA7-500 brings a reconfigurable FPGA to the AcroPack format and mounts on carrier cards, including VPX carriers. It acts as a bridge between the host processor and a custom digital interface: you write the firmware yourself in Vivado, starting from the APA7-EDK Engineering Design Kit, which provides an IP Integrator project with single-lane PCIe, DMA and a digital I/O control register.
The temperature range depends on the cooling method: −40~70 °C with air cooling and no heatsink, −40~80 °C with heatsink, −40~85 °C conduction-cooled. The Samtec connector facing the carrier dedicates 50 pins to field I/O.
Available configurations: APA7-501E-LF with 48 TTL channels, APA7-502E-LF with 24 EIA-485/422 channels, APA7-503E-LF with 24 TTL and 12 EIA-485/422, APA7-504E-LF with 24 LVDS channels.
