AP522 brings Acromag's Industry Pack line into the AcroPack form factor with a PCIe interface: eight asynchronous communication channels from a single carrier slot, rather than from eight separate boards. Baud rate, character size, stop bits and parity are set via software.

It retains the functionality and memory map of the Industry Pack modules, for a gradual transition. A downward-facing 100-pin Samtec connector mates with the carrier: fifty signals are available as field I/O, with spacing that allows 100 V of signal-to-signal isolation. Transmit, receive, line status, data set and flow control interrupts are read from a single register.

Available as AP522E-LF, with optional software packages APSW-API-VXW (VxWorks), APSW-API-WIN (Windows) and APSW-API-LNX (Linux), and optional AP-CC-01 conduction-cool kit.
