AP484 belongs to the AcroPack line, which brings Acromag's Industry Pack mezzanine modules onto a PCIe interface while retaining the functionality and memory map of the IP modules: a tech-refresh, not a redesign. The rugged COTS form factor works on PCIe, VPX and XMC carriers in military, defence, automation and aerospace applications, as well as in scientific and development laboratories.
Configuration is handled almost entirely through a single register, so programming stays compact; the modes cover event counting, frequency and period/pulse-width measurement, quadrature position and generation of square waves or pulse trains. The module, 70 mm long, mates with the carrier through a downward-facing 100-pin Samtec connector, fifty pins of which are available as field signals.
Available as part number AP484E-LF, with six 32-bit RS422 counters.
