AP471 belongs to the AcroPack line, which brings the functionality of Acromag Industry Pack modules to a PCIe interface in mezzanine format: it mounts on XMC, VPX and PCIe carriers, and several AcroPack modules can coexist on the same carrier for modular assembly. It is used in COTS applications in the military, defense, automation, aerospace and scientific and development laboratory fields, where many digital points have to be read and driven.
What sets it apart is event handling: every channel provides interrupt capability on low-to-high and high-to-low transitions, with change-of-state interrupts on paired channels. At power-up and reset the outputs assume a failsafe state without instantaneous switching, they do not generate false alarms, and the TTL level thresholds allow direct interfacing with standard relay racks.
Conduction-cooled operation is available with the AP-CC-01 kit.
