AMC601 is an AMC board that places mass storage inside the MicroTCA chassis: the disk becomes a shelf resource, powered and supervised like the other modules fitted in the slots.
The low draw is the trait that weighs in the choice, because it leaves power headroom for the processing AMCs present in the same chassis.
