What Qseven is: the 70-millimetre square
Qseven is a compact Computer-on-Module: 70×70 millimetres, a 230-pin edge connector, a single 5 V supply and a typical power envelope around 12 W.
Like every COM, the Qseven module concentrates CPU, memory and chipset and plugs into an application carrier board: the connector is an MXM2-style edge, and the low height (around 12 mm) suits slim systems. The specification allows low-power x86 — typically Intel Atom — and ARM SoCs; typical operating systems are Windows, Linux, QNX and WEC.
Alongside the full format there is the 70×40 millimetre µQ7, for the tightest footprints. The standard is governed by SGET, the same group as SMARC: the two families split the low-power field — SMARC leaning towards ARM and mobile interfaces, Qseven historically more x86.
