Everything at front, power at rear
GAP-245F-W9 is a 2U rugged rack workstation with front I/O and rear power supply: in an enclosure closed on one side — a shelter, a mobile rack, a technical compartment — wiring and diagnostics remain accessible without removing the unit. Dimensions are 483 × 88 × 450 mm, the chassis is aluminum with passivation treatment, painted black RAL 9005.
Desktop computing, server discipline
The base is an LGA-1700 socket with W680 chipset: it accepts 13th and 14th generation Core i9/i7/i5/i3 up to 125 W TDP. Memory is DDR5-4400 across four UDIMM slots, ECC or non-ECC, up to 192 GB: ECC on a Core platform is exactly what the W680 adds, and on a system deployed in the field for years, that matters.
Internal storage: 3× M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 (2280, M-Key) with RAID 0, 1, 5
Removable storage: up to 9× SATA 2.5″ SSD, or 6× U.2 NVMe, or 3× SAS SSD
Expansion: 2× PCIe 4.0 x16 (top and middle position)
Network: 1× 2.5GbE, 1× Gigabit, plus a dedicated IPMI LAN
Management: IPMI 2.0 with Aspeed AST2600 BMC, watchdog, SNMP and e-mail notifications
Qualifications and environmental specifications
Declared qualifications are MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461, with RoHS and REACH. Operating temperature is 0–50 °C, storage from -40 to 70 °C; cooling is by active fan. Power supply is redundant, AC or DC, single option: it is an ordering choice, to be fixed at configuration.
What runs on it
Windows 11 and 10 IoT Enterprise, Windows Server 2022, Debian 11, Ubuntu Server 18.04 and 20.04 LTS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 Server are supported. The front panel carries USB 3.2 (three Type-A and one Type-C), two USB 2.0, audio, HDMI, DVI-D, DisplayPort and VGA. TPM is header-ready, not populated.
