Premio's RCO-1000-ASL-10 is a fanless embedded mini computer built around the Intel Atom x7000RE series (Amston Lake): a 150 × 105 × 56 mm, 0.9 kg box that fits in the cabinet, behind a display or on a mobile machine, and stays the same object in all three positions.
What it carries
The processor is the Atom x7433RE (4 cores, 9 W, up to 3.4 GHz) or the x7835RE (8 cores, 12 W, up to 3.6 GHz), with integrated Intel UHD graphics. Memory is a 262-pin DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM up to 16 GB, with in-band ECC. Storage is an internal bay for a 2.5″ SATA HDD or SSD, plus an M.2 B-Key slot (2242/3042/3052) that takes a 4G module or a SATA SSD, with two external SIM sockets.
The ports
- 2× 2.5GbE on Intel I226, with Wake-on-LAN and PXE;
- 3× USB 3.2 Gen2 at 10 Gbps and 1× USB 2.0;
- 2× RS-232/422/485 and 2× CAN 2.0 A/B on an internal header;
- one DisplayPort (3840 × 2160 at 60 Hz) and one HDMI 1.4b, for two independent displays;
- one M.2 E-Key 2230 slot for Wi-Fi, with four antenna holes.
The EDGEBoost I/O slot adds what the project lacks: a 2-port COM module, a 4-port USB module, or a DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.0 with 4 isolated digital inputs and 4 outputs.
Power and environment
The input is 9–36 VDC on a 3-pole terminal block, with AT and ATX modes and over-voltage, over-current and reverse-polarity protection; the ignition module is optional and is set from the BIOS. The declared operating temperature is -40 to 70 °C, storage -40 to 85 °C. Shock and vibration are tested to IEC 60068-2-27 and 60068-2-64 (50 G and 5 Grms with SSD), with a design that complies with MIL-STD-810H. The chassis is extruded aluminium; wall mounting is standard, VESA, side and DIN-rail mounting are optional kits.
Markings and operating system
The product is UL Listed (UL 62368-1), with CE, FCC Class A, ICES-003 and UKCA markings. TPM 2.0 is on board. The declared operating systems are Windows 11 and Ubuntu 22.04.
When it makes sense
It makes sense when computing has to sit next to the machine and the constraint is space, not power: two 2.5GbE ports, serial and CAN in a passive box that mounts wherever it fits. If you are choosing between the two CPUs or want to define the EDGEBoost module, write to us: we will tell you which configuration holds your thermal load.
