daq8580 is a rugged system in a standalone version dedicated to video compression on board mobile platforms, where no climate-controlled rack is available: heat is dissipated by conduction and the boards receive conformal coating.
The inputs accept two high definition channels or four in standard definition, processed by a Dual ARM 9 processor alongside a dedicated DSP. Interfacing comprises analog and digital video, Ethernet, RS-422 and Camera Link, with a Linux operating system; the declared environmental qualifications are MIL-STD-704F and MIL-STD-1275B.
