The IBOX-601-TVI8 is a fanless edge AI computer built around an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX module with eight TVI/AHD video inputs and one CAN FD: it processes analog camera streams where they are installed, without routing them to a downstream recorder.
Video enters analog, exits processed
The video inputs are eight, TVI/AHD over composite BNC connector: this is the coaxial cabling already present on vehicles and installations, which does not need to be redone in IP to add inference. The Orin NX module carries 1024 CUDA cores; the output is one HDMI Type-A, with HD audio on the same connector.
Network, field, wireless
- 1× 2.5GbE for data transmission to the rest of the system;
- 1× CAN FD and 4 digital inputs + 4 digital outputs for communication with the vehicle or the machine;
- 1× RS-232/422/485 and 2× USB 3.2, plus one USB Type-C for system recovery;
- onboard wireless: 5G, 4G/LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/GNSS, with an M.2 3042/3052 Key B slot for the WWAN module and SIM support.
Power and environment
The input is DC 9-60 V (nominal 12, 24 or 48 V) on a 3-pole Phoenix Contact terminal block, with ignition detection and smart power management provisioned for BBU: the system powers on and off with the vehicle, not with a switch. Onboard is the RTC coin battery.
Cooling is fanless, the chassis is aluminum alloy, mounting is wall-mount. Dimensions are 244 × 135 × 69 mm for 1.8 kg. Storage is an M.2 2280 Key M for NVMe SSD rated from -40 to 85 °C; the system storage temperature ranges from -40 to 80 °C.
Markings, security, ordering
The declared markings are E-Mark, CE, UKCA and FCC: the E-Mark is what is required for vehicle installation. On the platform side there are a Platform Security Controller and a Security Engine. The supported operating system is Linux.
The part number is ordered by module variant: IBOX-601-TVI8-ONX16 with Orin NX 16 GB, IBOX-601-TVI8-ON8 with Orin Nano 8 GB.
When it makes sense
It makes sense when the cameras are analog and already cabled, the vehicle provides a battery and not an outlet, and computing must stay onboard: eight TVI/AHD channels, CAN FD and ignition detection in a fanless 1.8 kg enclosure.
