The AWS EVO-SDI is the rugged mission computer of the AWS series with an HD-SDI video input next to the HDMI and VGA outputs: it processes in real time the stream of a high-resolution sensor on board manned and unmanned platforms, where size, weight and dissipated power matter.
What it carries
- 11th-generation Intel Xeon W-11865MRE, 8 cores, on COM Express architecture;
- 32 GB of DDR4 dual-channel;
- two front hot-swap bays for 2.5″ SATA SSDs with Secure Erase and a front-accessible CFast Type II slot;
- one mPCIe/mSATA expansion slot.
Video and connectivity
1× HD-SDI input, 1× HDMI output and 1× VGA output to integrate sensors and situational-awareness systems. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports, two USB 3.0 with retention and four USB 2.0, PS/2, four COM ports, two SATA 6 Gb/s with RAID. The external connectors are MIL-DTL-38999.
Environment and qualifications
Fanless design with no external airflow, SWaP-C optimized: 256 × 116 × 203 mm, 5.3 kg. Declared operating temperature -45 to 70 °C, storage -40 to 85 °C. Designed for MIL-STD-810G, RTCA/DO-160G and MIL-STD-461G.
When it makes sense
It makes sense when video comes in over SDI from a camera or a sensor and has to be processed on board, with drives that come out at the end of the mission and connectors that withstand vibration.
